| My bodhrans feature solid oak, steam-bent frames with a laminated counter hoop that provides solid support for the frame and the drumhead. Frame sizes include 16, 18, 22 inch frames. The standard depth for my bodhran is four inches. Other sizes, depths, and woods may be available upon request. My standard drum can be fitted with double or single cross-bar. Bodhrans By Bernier uses only the finest quality goat skins hand-picked from a small number of quality vendors. I can provide a wide variety of skin types and thicknesses depending on the needs of the customer. Skins are carefully glued onto the drum and then securely tacked using a double row of brass tacks. The bearing edge of the drum has been gently shaped to reduce buzz and potential for tearing. The basic drum comes in a natural oak finish.
